Genee Fund raising! PDF Print E-mail

The schools have been fund raising for the Genee competition to be held at Sadlers Wells theatre in London on November 21st 2010. The Academy supports this prestigious dance competition around the world and for its return to UK needs to ask for support. RAD teachers have been asked to help and so at Dance Warehouse we have been selling cakes! Not a bad idea as we managed to raise over £250.

We are still adding to the funds so watch this space and see how we go. We are always happy to support young dancers and those taking part in the Genee competition are starting their careers. Arts sponsorship is always difficult to obtain and so any help is good news.

We will be taking some older students to Birmingham at the end of July for a Choreographic competition also in aid of fund raising for the Genee. It will be very exciting. The students  have a chance to watch and meet dancers from Birmingham Royal Ballet as well as do classes and perform their solos. The prize is tickets to see the Finals of the Genees at Sadlers Wells in November.
